The angel had no halo but it had two wings alright. “It,” because she couldn’t tell if it was a male or female. In fact, shew vaguely remembered in Bible study classes that angels were sexless.
“You found me. I’ve been waiting for you,” it said. Its voice sounded near yet faraway, firm yet with echoes. It spoke with a tune so beautiful, she was sure she had never heard a sound like that.
It held up a lantern against the setting sun.
“Come,” it said. “We must hurry.”
